5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014 NEW My wife and I and young son go here once a week simply because the burgers and fries are outstanding. The key words are fresh, fresh and fresh. The portions especially of the fries are plentiful-I would say that a small fries here is about the same size as a large one at McDonalds. No matter what size you order, they fill the size cup you order and for good measure stuff the bag in which they put it making the portion a couple of sizes more than you would expect. Yes it is pricier than McDonalds, Burger King and Wendys but the overall quality and taste of the food is well worth the difference, and we just find it a much more enjoyable dining experience than with the other cited places-upgrade is the word which I would use to summarize our feelings. I used to think that McDonalds had the best fries around for a fast food restaurant, but this place blows them away in the freshness, quality and taste. They have a nice selection of soft drinks also. In addition the staff are super friendly and the place is quite clean. Overall I highly recommend this place if you want quality food without much wait which is a cut above the usual fast food places. Visited July 20144 of 5 stars Value

I like 5 guys and I routinely go to Enfield to get it - so i was pleased that my day brought me to West Springfield, MA and that there was a Five Guys there. The burger - small one, with the works - was excellent, as always. Our fries were also good, although not quite as crunchy as I like - could have been the potatoes, could have been the oil - not sure - but certainly edible. My only complaint was the music - Sirius Classic Rewind - which played music that I like, but not the type of music that I like to eat to or carry on a conversation with others in my party. Maybe I'm getting old - but I purchased all 5 of the songs I heard there on vinyl in my youth - It's just that "Back in Black" and "I Want You to Want Me" is a little distracting when played too loudly. Eat here. It is fine.

The best burgers in town! The French fries are made from scratch and in such large quantity! Everything was so delicious; when I want a well made burger I know where to go! The staff is friendly and the place was really clean!

We were looking forward to enjoying Five Guys after having it on the east coast. This location, however, was not up to standards. It was dirty - tables were not clean, peanut shells EVERYWHERE on the floor. I'm not a neat freak but I was not comfortable eating in this establishment. Our order was not correct - they gave us a BBQ burger that we didn't even order! The front counter help was also not very friendly. If you can AVOID this location - do it.

I like five guys but this location is frustratingly inconsistent. On some visits the food is amazing, but sometimes its mediocre. Sometimes the fries are soggy and the burgers messy. I'm not a big fan of the way they dump fries on top of the burger, but Cajun fries are amazing. Not the healthiest food option, also very expensive. But when they are on top of their game this place rivals sit-in restaurant like red robin. i just wish it would be more consistent.

Pretty OK place in my book. We stopped in for a late-night bite to eat (like, 9:45PM). I'd never had Five Guys Burgers before, so I was excited to give them a shot. The first thing that caught my attention was the price. Holy mackerel. You'll easily pay $6.50 for what they dub a "cheeseburger", which is actually a double cheeseburger. Had I known, I would have opted for the "little cheeseburger". I love that all the toppings are free, and I loaded my burger up with jalapenos, grilled onions, pickles, and mustard. My SO got a cheeseburger, too. We split an order of fries and a drink. Free peanuts to chomp on while you wait-- sweet! The place was clean, and pretty empty, except one or two other late-night patrons. They have awesome drink choices including Mello-Yellow and Cherry Coke, plus free refills. The burgers and fries only took a few minutes to make, and everything came out piping hot. The burger was much larger than I expected, and the fries order, like everyone else mentions, is huge. We split the regular order and still had leftovers. For me, what keeps this place from being 5-stars is the lack of flavor. I don't know what it is, maybe the food was too hot when I was eating it, but everything tasted under seasoned. The burger, the toppings, the fries, everything tasted bland. When a pickle doesn't taste like a pickle, there's a problem! And one nit-picky little thing, they don't have pickled jalapenos (like, the kind you normally get on burgers, nachos, hot dogs, etc), they use fresh jalapenos. It just didn't quite do it for me. The food was tasty, if only just a little underwhelming, and the portions were massive. It's a clean burger joint with fast service, so it's a "go" for me. However, if you're looking for "best ever", I can definitively say there's much tastier burgers out there.

Now the last time I did a burger place wasn't too long ago & that was in West Springfield at Classic Burger but this one gets the highest from me for a few reasons. The only other spot to get a high award was Bobby's Burger Palace @Mohegan Sun Casino but as I for one recall I think I gave her four or five due to not remembering offhand. Well the burgers are plentiful in size 7 taste & is done as you want it with various topping selections whether be veggies or sauces & the fries are heaping out of the containers & that's one big thing I had on the other burger spot in west Side. They do make shakes & I'll tell you that does literally put the other spot on their butts because they can't even think they're in my league. Oh yes this is well worth the money.

Five guys is a good fast casual restaurant. The hubs and I don't eat actual fast food, i.e. McD's, BK, Wendy's, etc, so fast casual is important to us. I appreciate that everything is cooked to order, particularly the fries which I like extra crispy (and they are happy to oblige). They offer fresh toppings and do a good job with the balance of sauces- as in they don't drown the poor little burger. They offer a great value, and this location is consistent and friendly.

As others have said Five Guys is what a burger place should be. Everything from the burgers to the toppings, to the fries are prepared fresh when place your order.

My first experience with Five Guys was not necessarily something to write home, or in this case Yelp*, about. It was just after they'd opened, so to avoid lines I ordered from their website, picked the food up, and drove it home to eat. Everything was a mess. Toppings were smushed. Fries were soft. Stuff was dripping. It just wasn't good. I didn't hold that against them though as the fact that they were new, the weird ordering process, and the longish trip home probably didn't help matters any. So, I vowed, I'd give them another shot. A lot of time passed since then, but recently I was finally able to stop in and see how things are going now that they've settled in. And what a lot a little bit of time and actually eating in the restaurant has done for Five Guys reputation in my circle! This time the burgers were hot, fresh, and flavorful. When we sat down with our food we could really taste the flavor of the beef and the quality of all the various ingredients. This wasn't the messy smash of burger-like accoutrements I'd previously pulled out of my take-out bags. This was great food! Speaking of great and bags; my table shared one large fry which came in a big brown paper bag we ripped open and put in the middle of the table. No limp, listless potatoes were to be found this time! These fries were hot, crisp, salty, and bursting with fresh potato flavor! And it turned out we had more than enough to savor alongside multiple burgers eaten by several patrons! So much so that we actually had leftovers! Now THAT is a LARGE fry if ever I've seen one! Good thing they had Mr. Pibb in the soda fountain to wash 'em down. Thank goodness for second chances!

My review could be a reflection of the fact that I don't eat fast food. So, if you're a burger connoisseur don't let my review affect your decision to try this place. Five guys is exactly like In-n-Out burger in a sit down restaurant style. The burgers don't seem to have anything special than any other burger except for more calories and more grease. The regular size french fries fills an entire brown bag. In general, it's a typical fast food joint with some special "characteristics" that make it five guys, such as the availability of peanuts that one can get up and get while they are waiting for their burgers.

Best in class for burgers and fries fast food. Beats even McDonald's on taste, and service here is always great. Ample portions, fresh ingredients. This location's late night hours are particularly handy for travelers. Just be prepared to choose exactly what toppings you want; they're all free.

Ordered online to expedite the pickup process. Our burgers were good and all assembled correctly. Special thanks for the outstanding jalapeños which were blazing hot! Yum. Fries were good though not nearly the huge portions we've gotten in other Five Guys. Got sprite to go but found out later that it was plain seltzer. Better than a value meal any day though...

Are there burgers tasty? Sure. Are they worth $5-6? Absolutely not lol I went here for the first time yesterday since it's been open and I was blown away by the astronomical prices. Maybe $5-6 for one burger is a little too much to me and that doesn't even include fries or a drink. TheCajun fries were $3 additional. For 2 burgers and a fry, I ended up spending over 15 bucks which I find to be unreasonable. On top of that, the Cajun fries didn't leave a good impression on me. I was expecting something reminiscent to the fries offered at Arby's but these were nothing like that. These were overpowered by cajun seasoning and to top it off, they seasoned them even more with salt that had the same Cajun seasoning the fries had. This place didn't leave a good impression so the next time, I'm driving down route 5, I'll be sure to pass by this one

I love Five guys, but this joint just doesn't hold up to the Five Guys in Westfield, MA or in Enfield, CT. The burgers here are put together sloppily and are extra greasy. I still love choosing all my toppings, I love that they have Mellow Yellow, and the fries are awesome as always.

Eh. Not as good as local burger in Northampton but definitely better than frendlies or McDonald's.

Love Five Guys! The staff at this one is friendlier than some others in the chain. I get my burger without a bun (gluten intolerance), and the cashier always asks if it's an allergy before putting my order in, which is nice since most other places don't take it seriously. The only disappointing thing is the lettuce often gets pretty soggy because of the grease from the beef patties (they should either leave the leaves whole, or shred them, but the in between chopped up pieces don't work!) The fries are nice and crispy and oh so good. I like ordering online so that I can quickly pick it up for take-out when I'm in a hurry.

I'm going to give this 4 stars as the burgers are very good, the place is usually clean, and there is free peanuts. The only real downside is they have an exceptionally limited menu.

Five Guys is exactly what you want in a hamburger place. Delicious, juicy and high quality burgers with fresh toppings and good fries. We enjoy the Cajun fries for their tangy, spicy goodness.

i ventured here today for the first time and was very impressed. The place was very clean and all the employees were friendly and enthusiastic. Nice vibe for sure. I got a cheeseburger with everything, "little" french fry order, and a coke. The burger was giant and delicious. Maybe the best I have had in a long time. The 'Little Fry" which cost $1.99 had more french fries than I could eat. They were golden and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Overall I would highly recommend and I will definitely be back. Good job to everyone working here, you are doing a great job !! PS: total bill was $10.77 and I was absolutely stuffed. Not bad at all.
